Junior Maintenance Administrator
Junior Maintenance Administrator: Caldicot, Monmouthshire.
Chepstow Plant International is offering an excellent opportunity for a motivated young person (aged 16–19) to join our growing administrative team through the Growth Wales programme as our Maintenance Apprentice. The position is full time, offering 40 hours per week. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, systems and records, and wants to either to build a long-term career in business administration within the construction and plant industry or to further their experience in a fast-paced office environment. You’ll play an important part in supporting our maintenance and asset teams by keeping records accurate, up to date and compliant.
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate along with a mentor / mentee approach to enhance future development. For the right candidate, this role is designed as a starting point with this position providing progression to future administration & co-ordinator-based roles with Chepstow Plant.
Key Responsibilities
- – Enter inspection reports, defects & compliance records and DVLA / CE related documents onto internal systems accurately and on time.
- – Update vehicle and asset mileage / operating hours within the system.
- – Help shape and support the existing workshop team to visibly improve and develop standards to support targeted external works as well as assisting with the recruitment of new engineers into the department.
- -Check compliance dates and flag upcoming expiries to the admin or maintenance team.
- – Assist with closing completed repair and maintenance jobs on the system.
- – Allocate jobs to engineers via tablets or job management software (training provided).
- – Update job statuses and ensure records are complete and accurate.
- – Assist with filing (digital and occasional paper-based), document scanning and record management.
- – Provide general admin support to the wider team as required.
Job Skills & Requirements
- – Aged 16-19 and eligible for the Growth Wales programme
- – Comfortable using computers including Microsoft office-based systems. Any experience in administration systems is ideal, but not essential.
- – Maths / English Grade 4 / C above or equivalent at GCSE / A-Levels / BTEC
- – Prior work experience, placements or volunteering is not required for this role but would be a bonus for the right candidate.
- – Interest in the quarrying / construction sector, data or business would be preferred, but not essential.
- – Good attention to deal & accuracy, a willingness to learn and follow structured processes.
- – Trustworthy, reliable, punctual and professional attitude.
